Caring for Caregivers
n partnership with FaithLife Church (formerly known as St. Mark’s Lutheran Church) Wellington Heights Community Church is thrilled to offer another round of freezer meals as a way to extend care to caregivers in our community!
In September our pastoral team shared that the U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, M.D. released an advisory on the mental health and well-being of parents. The advisory highlights stressors that impact parents and caregivers, links between parental mental health and children's long-term well-being and the need to better support parents, caregivers and families. Read the report here.
Parenting is sacred work. And caregivers, need care too!
Sign-up to receive a freezer meal dropped off to your home in October by emailing Ashley at office@wellingtonheightscommunitychurch.org
May we continue to support one another in prayer and practical support in the sacred work of caregiving!
Presence & Proximity
Check out the latest issue of Fuller Seminary Magazine, where Pastor Keeyon was featured. Check it out here.
"It’s Keeyon’s prayer that amidst the shifting spiritual landscape we find ourselves in, in each of our distinct contexts inside and outside the church walls, we remain open to what the Holy Spirit is doing—even and especially when religion doesn’t look the way it once did. And as the church follows the Spirit into this new horizon, he knows that chaplains will have a faithful role to play, ministering through faithful presence to those around us."
Church-Wide Finance Meeting
You are invited to attend the annual Church-Wide Finance Meeting led by our Treasurer, Nick Mundorf on October 20th during Sunday Service. A portion of service will set aside time as an opportunity to review the church's finances, discuss stewardship and hopes for the future.
We look forward to seeing your participation as we continue to join God in reconciling all things through worship, reconciliation and neighborhood development.

Volunteer Opportunity
We're looking for volunteers to be part of the Hospitality & Greeting Team!
Hospitality volunteers help prepare and clean up coffee and donuts for our community gatherings. It's a great way to contribute and create an environment of welcome and hospitality!
As a greeting volunteer, you'll be the first person people see when they arrive, offering welcome to everyone who walks through our doors. Consider signing up to volunteer in this meaningful way to serve and connect with our community!
Email office@wellingtonheightscommunitychurch.org to sign up to be part of the Hospitality & Greeting Team!
Flourishing Neighborhood Index
A wonderful group of people gathered at the church Wednesday, August 28th for a virtual training session with the Focused Community Strategies in Atlanta. A Google form was created with a QR code to help neighbors sign up to take the Neighbor Survey - and sign-ups are filling up already!
If you would like to join the team, we could still use more surveyors. This is a PAID position!
Please spread the word and the QR code as we are hoping to survey 400 neighbors.
Grab a sheet from the back table this Sunday to give to a neighbor to sign-up to participate. Neighbors who complete the survey are eligible to receive a $25 Walmart gift card.
If you have any questions or would like to become a surveyor, please contact

Reconcile: Turn Toward God and One Another Sermon Series
The journey of reconciliation is precisely that—a journey toward restoration and wholeness. This sermon series will help us stay grounded by addressing our current challenges while also embracing a prophetic imagination to live into the new reality of God’s vision of shalom.
