MINISTRIES

worship ministry

Worship is at the heart of who we are—it’s our response to God’s love and grace through Jesus.

As a multicultural church committed to reconciliation, our worship reflects the vision of a “new song” in Revelation 5:9. We embrace the diverse worship experiences within our community—musically, stylistically, and theologically—creating a space of freedom and invitation. Freedom to worship authentically and an invitation to explore cultural expressions of worship beyond our own traditions.

children’s ministry

Nursery (0-3 years old) is available upstairs during service.

  • Preschool-5th grade are dismissed after the 5-minute connection time. Kids, stay seated until it’s announced!

We encourage kids to fully participate in worship, communion, readings, and prayer—children absorb more than we realize just by being present!

Busy Bags (coloring pages, crayons, fidgets, and more) are available at the back of the worship space and coat room for kids to use during service.

Parents & Caregivers—Take a deep breath! Kids are wiggly and giggly, and that’s okay! There’s no pressure to keep them perfectly still. If you need a quiet moment, a parent’s room and nursing mother’s room are available near the bathrooms.

Children are a vibrant and growing part of our church family! If you don’t have young ones with you, we encourage you to smile and support the caregivers around you.

family sundays

Starting in July, we’re introducing Family Sunday once a month, where kids will stay in the full service to engage in worship with the whole church family. Nursery (6 months-3 years) will still be available, and Busy Bags will be packed for kids to use. The Family Sunday schedule will be shared in the monthly Children’s Ministry newsletter.

This shift is about sustainability for our ministry staff and volunteers. We know it may be an adjustment for some families, and we’re here to process this change with you. Please reach out to Pastor Keeyon or Pastor Stephanie with any questions.

Children’s Ministry remains a vital part of our community, and we’re committed to its growth. Our prayer is to expand financial and volunteer support to continue flourishing for the long haul!

neighborhood development

God is restoring and renewing our community, and we are honored to be part of this sacred work. We believe in standing with the marginalized, advocating for justice, and building relationships in Wellington Heights. We can’t do it alone—we need each other.

At WHCC, reconciliation is central to our mission. Faith, Race, and Mental Health exists to support navigating reconciliation within our community.

This space:

  • Provides a welcoming environment to share emotions, thoughts, and questions.

  • Raises awareness of the emotional and mental impact of reconciliation work.

  • Helps mitigate race-related trauma and fatigue.

Gathering will re-launch in Spring 2025, sign-up for the digital newsletter to stay updated!

peace house youth

WHCC’s youth group was created when local youth approached Pastor Keeyon and Pastor Stephanie, asking for a safe space to grow in faith. Our group welcomes youth of all ethnicities and gender identities, creating a space to learn, connect, and support one another.

Join us every first Wednesday of the month!
