Children’s Ministry Assistant Position Now Open

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Children’s Ministry Assistant's responsibility is to assist in the nursery, and the Children’s Ministry needs of Wellington Heights Community Church on Sunday mornings. While there are other specific responsibilities entailed in this role, being a self-starter and initiator is key to this position, both in executing and learning. As an extension of this expectation, the Children’s Ministry Assistant is expected to consistently be learning, growing, and developing in cultural competency and humility. It is important to note that WHCC is a “multi” and diverse church, and it is core to this position as it impacts the day-to-day experience. CORE

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Children’s Ministry Assistant is primarily responsible for advancing the vision and mission of Wellington Heights Community Church by handling the Nursery and Children’s Ministry needs of Wellington Heights Community Church.

● Provide relational care for children who arrive early with a parent/guardian (staff/volunteer) between 9-10 AM

● Be present in the Nursery at WHCC to provide care for children 0-3 years old during Sunday morning service

● If there are no children 0-3 years of age present that Sunday, this position will provide support with Children’s Ministry ages 4-12 on Sunday mornings during service.

● Empty garbage in the Nursing Mothers Room, Children’s Ministry area after each Sunday Service

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

● Be fully engaged in the life of Wellington Heights Community Church

● Coordinate efforts with the larger staff team and participate in monthly staff meetings and our annual staff retreat.

● Commit to an approach of ministry rooted in the approach of Christian Community Development.
